The effort means to tighten the screws on those private health institutions operating illegally, Health Minister Gagan Kumar Thapa said.

The proposal to amend the guideline has been sent to the Parliament for discussion after its approval from the Cabinet, he informed.

The Ministry said 60 percent of private health facilities across the country have been found to be running without registration or renewing their licenses on time.

The revelation follows a monitoring carried out by the Ministry following complaints of private health facilities running without meeting set standards. RSS
