KATHMANDU, Aug 23: The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MoCIT) held discussion with its subordinate agencies on the preliminary draft of the 16th five-year periodic plan.
Present in the discussion were Heads of Press Council Nepal, Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS), Minimum Wage Fixation Committee, Nepal Telecom Authority, Gorkhapattra Corporation, Radio Nepal and Nepal Television, among others.

The National Planning Commission recently unveiled the concept paper of the 16th periodic plan (2024/25-2028/29). The Plan is set to be implemented from the next fiscal year, starting on July 16.
Based on the concept paper, all ministries are required to hold preliminary discussion on the draft and furnish recommendations if need be.
Spokesperson at the MoCIT, Netra Subedi, said, "The concept paper of the 16th Plan has come out recently. All the ministries will prepare the plan and send their recommendations based on the draft prepared by the National Planning Commission."
Rastriya Samachar Samiti, Nepal Press Council and Nepal Telecommunications Authority, among others under the MoCIT, have submitted the details in relation to the plan.
It may be noted that the 16th period plan has accorded high priority to digital database and e-governance.
