Indian PM Modi leaves for Muktinath

KATHMANDU, May 11: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a two day visit to Nepal at the invitation of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, has left for Jomsom to pay homage to Muktinath Temple on Saturday morning.

KATHMANDU, May 11: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a two day visit to Nepal at the invitation of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, has left for Jomsom to pay homage to Muktinath Temple on Saturday morning.


According to our district reporter Sushil Thakali, the security has been beefed up in Jomsom and the locals clad in traditional attire are all set to welcome Prime Minister Modi.

Modi and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli jointly laid a foundation stone for much-awaited Arun III hydropower project and held a one-on-one talks at Dwarika’s Hotel on Friday evening. Earlier, Modi received a civic felicitation at Janakpurdham and a guard of honor at Nepal Army Pavilion,Tundikhel in Kathmandu yesterday.


Modi, whose two-day official visit is expected to mend ties with Neal that had sourced following six-month blockade imposed by India in 2015, also paid a courtesy call on President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun yesterday. Modi will return home today itself.
