Modi voices Indian support for Oli's 'Sambridhha Nepal, Sukhi Nepali' plan

KATHMANDU, May 10: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is visiting Nepal on Friday, has announced to extend support to implement "Samriddha Nepal, Sukhi Nepali" plan unveiled by the KP Oli government.

KATHMANDU, May 11: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is visiting Nepal on Friday, has announced to extend support to implement "Samriddha Nepal, Sukhi Nepali" plan unveiled by the KP Oli government.


Prime Minister Modi took to Twitter on Thursday and said that India would remain a steadfast partner in Nepal's development endeavors. "As Nepal enters a new era of consolidating the gains of a democracy and achieving economic growth, India remains a steadfast partner of the Nepal Government to implement their vision of 'Samriddha Nepal, Sukhi Nepali," he has said.

As the third visit to Nepal since becoming prime minister, Narendra Modi is making a stopover in Janakpur to offer worship in the Janaki Temple before flying to Kathmandu on Friday. He is also scheduled to visit the Muktinath temple in Mustang during his two-day visit to Nepal. Prime Minister Modi said Janakpur and Muktinath are vibrant centers of pilgrimage and tourism.


"They are also testimony to the strong cultural ties that bind our nations," he said. Modi has said that his two-day visit to Nepal at the invitation of his Nepali counterpart reflects the high priority India attaches to friendly relations with Nepal. "I will be holding extensive talks with PM Oli on ways to further deepen bilateral cooperation," he further said.
