MoEST tells subordinate units to campaign against gender-based violence

KATHMANDU, Nov 26: The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST) has instructed all its subordinate offices and units to stand against gender-based violence (GBV) as the government plans to launch a two-week campaign against GBV from November 25 to December 10.

KATHMANDU, Nov 26: The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST) has instructed all its subordinate offices and units to stand against gender-based violence (GBV) as the government plans to launch a two-week campaign against GBV from November 25 to December 10.


According to a statement issued on Sunday, the ministry circulated notice to the Ministry of Social Development in all seven provinces, all divisions under the ministry, district education development and coordination units of all 77 districts, Education and Human Resource Development Center, Curriculum Development Center, Education review Office, National Examinations Board, Teachers Service Commission and National Library, education units in all 753 local bodies  among others to campaign against GBV.

Nepal started awareness campaign for rights of women and children, their rights to live respectfully and take them as equal partners for development.


“We urge all these bodies to engage in awareness campaign against gender-based violence throughout the country for 16 days,” said the statement.
