KATHMANDU, March 30: RPP Nepal Chairman Kamal Thapa has said that monarchy is not an option for the political parties. Talking to media persons today, Thapa said that the alternative for a political party in a democracy is another political party.
“The monarchy cannot be accepted as an alternative to political parties,” Thapa said. Stating that the rise of a political party depends on the people, he said that RPP Nepal is not in favor of an active monarchy but in favor of a Hindu nation.
No opposition party in parliament!
On the occasion, Thapa said that he does not regret any of his doings in favor of monarchy in the past and still has high respect for the monarchy. He said that the monarchy has made a great contribution to the unification of Nepal, the establishment of democracy, and strengthening the country.
Furthermore, Thapa said that there is a possibility of coordinating with the CPN-UML in the upcoming local-level elections scheduled for May 13. He claimed that he will make the party stronger through the upcoming election.
