In the course of market monitoring conducted on Sunday in the Simkot area, most of the businesses were found to have operated without legal documents. Thapa said that such business firms have been asked to get registered. He said that they would be sealed off if they failed to comply with the legal procedures.

Thapa said that the number of firms that are not registered could go up if more businesses are monitored. Likewise, even the shops with registration documents lack PAN numbers. Some date-expired drinks, junk foods and other products were destroyed after the monitoring.
