Motihari-Amlekhgunj petroleum project in final stage

JANAKPURDHAM, Aug 2: The second phase of the Motihari-Bara-Amlekhgunj Petroleum Pipeline Project has reached the final stage of completion.  The project is being carried out as part of Nepal-India cooperation.

JANAKPURDHAM, Aug 2: The second phase of the Motihari-Bara-Amlekhgunj Petroleum Pipeline Project has reached the final stage of completion.  The project is being carried out as part of Nepal-India cooperation.


The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has stated that 90 per cent of the project's work is finished.

The chief of Madhesh Province Office of the NOC, Binitmani Upadhyay, said the remaining tasks of the project will be completed in two months, adding that two tanks with a capacity of 4,001 kiloliters were prepared and the task of laying the pipeline has reached the final phase.


The Government of Nepal has invested Rs 1.54 billion and Rs 600 million has been invested by the Indian government for the project.
