MoU signed on pollution control

KATHMANDU, June 2: The Ministry of Population and Environment and the Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies from Germany have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to carry out a detailed study on pollution control in the Kathmandu Valley.

KATHMANDU, June 2: The Ministry of Population and Environment and the Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies from Germany have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to carry out a detailed study on pollution control in the Kathmandu Valley. 


During the programme, Minister for Population and Environment Jaya Dev Joshi praised the assistance received from German government in Nepal's economic and technical development and expressed confidence that the MoU would be instrumental to find out new measures in pollution control in Kathmandu.

On the occasion, Secretary at the Ministry Bishwa Nath Oli drew the attention of all for giving priority on the issues of environment to ensure sustainable development. 


Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Population and Environment Dr Ram Prasad Lamsal and Prof Mark Lawrence on behalf of the Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies signed the MoU. 


As per the agreement, a research centre would be set up at Bode of Bhaktapur to carry out a detailed study and identify the measures for sustainable measure to check growing pollution. RSS
