KATHMANDU, Jan 10: Dr Sunil Sharma, director of Kathmandu Medical College, has commented that it is ridiculous for Education Minister Ashok Rai to write a letter to lift the suspension of Dr Bishad Dahal, who had acted against the conduct.
After the Education Minister Ashok Rai sent a letter with instructions on Tuesday to lift the suspension of Dr Dahal, who was suspended by KMC for one month, KMC Director Sharma commented that the action of the Education Minister was ridiculous and shameful.

Sharma claimed that Education Minister Rai had misused his position to send a letter to the college.
“It is ridiculous and shameful for a person like a minister to write a letter on the matter of suspending a student who has acted contrary to conduct,” said Sharma, who is also a Member of Parliament (MP) from the Nepali Congress. “The letter of the education minister does not matter to us. We will go to court within 35 days.'' He said that the minister's letter further damaged the environment at a time when preparations were being made to resolve the matter through dialogue following discussions on Monday.
The agitation started in the college 13 days ago after the KMC suspended Dr Dahal, a student of KMC, for a month for opposing a health camp. The college administration has not permitted Dahal to enter the college. On this matter, MP of Rastriya Swatantra Party, Dr Tosima Karki, and others raised questions in the Education, Health and Information Technology Committee of parliament every day stating that the ministry had not done anything. Then Education Minister Ashok Rai instructed the KMC to lift the suspension.
