Muglin, April 16: A motorable 'arch bridge' being built over the Trishuli River is coming into operation in the near future. The bridge will connect Muglin of Ichhakamana rural municipality, Chitwan and Benitar of Anbukhaireni rural municipality, Tanahun.
According to the contractor, over 95 percent of construction of the bridge has so far completed. Motilal Sharma, managing director of the contractor company E-Ride Adventure Lohani JV, remaining works now are installation of rallying and footpath and electrical wiring.
Muglin road to shut from tomorrow
"Over 95 percent works have so far completed. Rallying, footpath, and wiring are only to be fixed now. We would complete entire works and hand over the bridge by mid-May", Sharma added. He admitted that the bridge construction was not accomplished in the stipulated time due to its new nature of work, increasing current level in the river and trouble in the transportation of materials due to frequent Muglin road disruption.
The arch bridge has been constructed with World Bank funding of Rs 120 million. The 60-metre-long bridge will have 11 metres breadth. RSS
