Mukunda Neupane quits Unified Socialist, prepares to join the UML

KATHMANDU, April 8: A senior leader of CPN (Unified Socialist) Mukunda Neupane has quit the party.


Organizing a press conference in Kathmandu on Saturday, senior leader Neupane formally announced that he has quit the party.

He alleged that even though the unified socialists have introduced themselves, they have not been able to identify them and indulged in opportunism.


Neupane claimed that there are people who only want to be lawmakers and ministries and they just want power.


Stating that there was no discussion about his different opinions in the meeting of the Central Committee held in January, Neupane said, "I thought of being a good citizen of the country rather than being a member of such a party."


He mentioned that he is ready to be included in CPN-UML by gathering leaders and workers from all over the country. He also claimed that Jhalnath Khanal, the leader of the United Socialist Party is in a state of mind to return to the UML as well.
