According to Mohan Subedi, who is coordinator of the event, the two-day program also dubbed as Summer Summit—2022 includes six modules in three areas, namely teaching excellence and online/blended instruction, research agenda development and writing/publication skills and faculty training and innovation in curriculum design and implementation. “Among other things, the program seeks to connect volunteer facilitators with TU leaders through a showcase of professional development models and shared strategy-building discussion,” he said.

Participants will return home with a training model and plan of their own. They are expected to share the learnings made through the event to their colleagues at their respective campuses, thereby helping to enhance teaching-learning activities in TU campuses across the country.

Director of ODEC, TU, Dr Ganga Ram Gautam said the program is organized to enhance the capacity of faculty members working at TU campuses across the country. The program is expected to strengthen the research capacity of TU faculty members and enhance teaching/learning activities at the TU campuses across the country.

TU had invited applications from potential candidates affiliated to TU from all across the country. The participants were chosen from over 100 applicants giving priority to female candidates. "One of the main objectives of the program is to develop human resources necessary to train TU faculty members across the country. This also aims to develop a framework for the training modules in order to make the training programs effective," said Gautam.
