Muslim Commission recommends govt declare holiday tomorrow for Eid-ul-Fitr

KATHMANDU, April 10: A public holiday is set to be granted tomorrow on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. Upon the recommendation of the Muslim Commission, the Ministry of Home Affairs is preparing to submit a proposal to the Council of Ministers for the holiday.

KATHMANDU, April 10: A public holiday is set to be granted tomorrow on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. Upon the recommendation of the Muslim Commission, the Ministry of Home Affairs is preparing to submit a proposal to the Council of Ministers for the holiday. 


The Commission, which bases its recommendations on Eid-ul-Fitr, has suggested Thursday as the day for the holiday.

"We have sent a recommendation letter to the Ministry of Home Affairs to announce a public holiday tomorrow, on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr," stated Muslim Commission Chairman Samim Miya Ansari.


The government has already designated Eid ul Fitr as a public holiday in the official holiday calendar.


"We will declare the holiday following the commission's recommendation," confirmed a source at the home ministry.
