NAC plane bound to Japan aborts flight after smoke detected in aircraft

KATHMANDU, Sept 14: The Nepal Airlines Corporation’s widebody RA 433 aircraft bound to Narita, Japan from Kathmandu returned within half an hour after smoke was detected in the aircraft on Tuesday night.

KATHMANDU, Sept 14: The Nepal Airlines Corporation’s widebody RA 433 aircraft bound to Narita, Japan from Kathmandu returned within half an hour after smoke was detected in the aircraft on Tuesday night.


Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) office informed Republica that the aircraft with 184 passengers onboard was diverted to Kathmandu after smoke was detected in the cargo hold area of the aircraft. The aircraft flew to Narita at 11 PM last night.

According to the TIA Offce, the plane will fly to Narita today after a technical check.
