KATHMANDU, March 21: The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has grounded the crew members of a Twin Otter aircraft of the Nepal Airlines Corporation for violation of rules. According to CAAN, it has grounded seven people including three crew members, the corporation's marketing staff and a dispatcher.
CAAN Spokesperson Jagannath Niraula said that an NAC aircraft with call sign 9N ABT, which took off from Taplejung to Kathmandu on Monday, was found to be carrying 150 kg more baggage than the loading capacity of the plane. Therefore, the CAAN took action against the crew members. Spokesperson Niraula said that the plane was carrying more load than its capacity.

After receiving information that the aircraft was carrying more load than its capacity, the authority grounded the crew because they did not follow the flight discipline. CAAN found more weight than what was mentioned on the paper.
The authority said it will further investigate the issue.
