NAC slashes flight frequency to India

KATHMANDU, March 14: Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has slashed its flight frequency to India citing lack of passengers due to the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19).

KATHMANDU, March 14: Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has slashed its flight frequency to India citing lack of passengers due to the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19). 


Issuing a statement on Friday, the company said it was slashing flight frequency to India and canceling flights to Thailand and Hong Kong. “The NAC will operate only one flight to be effective from March 15,” the statement read. “The morning flight will be maintained whereas the flights in the evening will be suspended until further notice.” It had been carrying out two daily flights in the Kathmandu-Delhi-Kathmandu route.

Mumbai that is carried out every Friday has been suspended from March 15 to April 15. The national carrier has also canceled its flights to Bangkok on March 11 and 25, and for Hong Kong, flights scheduled for March 19 and 26, have also been canceled.


The date change charge up to one time for the sectors has been waived off. The national flag carrier recently suspended its daily flights to Qatar from Tuesday after Qatar banned travelers from 14 countries including Nepal.
