KATHMANDU, Feb 1: NADA Automobiles Association of Nepal has requested the Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha to set a 24-hour time limit for Indian cargo vehicles in Nepal.
The NADA team held a meeting with Minister Shrestha and demanded that 24-hour time be set for the Indian cargo vehicles. They have maintained that Indian cargo vehicles stay in Nepal for a long time, leaving serious impacts in their businesses.
FTTEN demands ban on Indian cargo vehicles in Nepal
Indian goods vehicles are currently allowed to stay in Nepal for 72 hours after entering the customs point. NADA complains that this has affected the sale of cargo vehicles in Nepal.
The auto entrepreneurs met Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Shrestha under the leadership of NADA President Karan Chaudhary.
NADA has also demanded to stop the unauthorized import of large quantities of lubricants, tires and automobile spare parts from India due to open borders.
NADA in a statement on Wednesday said that Home Minister Shrestha replied that the government will take the necessary decision on the demand to set a 24-hour deadline.
