Nepal Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) is gearing up for the 10 th National Art Exhibition which is schedule on April 14 and will continue till May 3 at Nepal Art Council, Babermahal.

To inform about the ongoing preparation, NAFA organized a press meet on Sunday at its office premises, Naxal. Chancellor of NAFA, K K Karmacharya informed the details about the exhibition. He shared that the exhibition will feature contemporary painting, contemporary sculpture, folk art, handicraft, traditional painting, traditional sculpture, installation, architecture and other creative art, performance art and photography.
Meanwhile, various events such as art talk, art demonstration, art workshop, book exhibition related to art and interaction program with artists will also take place. He added, “The total budget for the exhibition is Rs 3,550,000 that will cover all the expenses including the cash prize for the awards.”
The exhibition has two categories—competitive and non competitive. The competitive category has three sub categories for award and they are fine arts, art writing and provincial award. Moreover, fine art has six sub divisions; Art Writing has two sub divisions and one award each for artists from each province.
NAFA is expecting for 500 artworks for the exhibition and in the press meet, he shared, “Though the submission date of artworks is up to February 25, seven more days has been added so that we could reach our target number of submission.”
