KATHMANDU, May 9: Prashant Lamichhane, coordinator of nagariknews.com (digital version of Nagarik daily) has bagged Baba Ananda Sanchar Award-2017.
A meeting of Baba Ananda Sanchar Award jury held on May 9, 2018, picked Lamichhane as the winner for the contribution on the environment sector. Journalist Lamichhane has been actively writing on various issues including environemnt since the last 10 years.

Lamichhane, who originally hails from Kushma municipality in Parbat district, started his career as a journalist from Rastriya Swabhimaan Saptahik
Lamichhane strongly raised issues of Fewa Lake encroachment in his reports in 2017.
The award carries a purse of Rs 15,111. The award will be handed over to Lamimichhane amid a function on the occasion of World Environment Day on June 5.
