Kunwar said that only the voters with double names were removed from the list in the district. He said that the names of deceased voters may be included in the voter list as the local level has not prepared the data on the number of deaths of people above 18 years of age since 2017.

“We have not released any report on the names or numbers of deceased voters. We have not sent any list to the Election Commission either,” said Information Officer at Ghorahi Sub Metropolitan City Bhim Chaudhary.

Chief Administrative Officer of Babai Village, Bhishma Kumar Malla, said that only the data of only those filing application for amendments was sent to the Election Commission but not the names of deceased voters. There are a total of 409,900 voters in the district. In 2017, the number stood at 377,005 in the district.
