The provisions including reestablishing the District Education Office, appointing the principal by the District Education Office are against the sentiments of federalism, claimed Association Chairperson Laxmi Devi Pandey.

She said that preparing the bill by the government without holding discussions with them even though it is a matter of direct concern of local governments proved that the federal government has tried to snatch the rights of the local governments.

Pandey mentioned that tabling of the Bill to amend and unify the laws related to School Education, 2080 in the Parliament was positive.

A press release issued by the Association after the meeting reads, "Some of the provisions of the bill have the nature of challenging the federal system and interfering with the rights of the local government. We urge the lawmakers to pass the bill with revision. We also request all bodies concerned to exert pressure for making the federal system-friendly laws."
