KATHMANDU, Dec 26: The National Convention of the CPN (Maoist Center) is starting from today. Delegates from across the country have arrived in the capital Kathmandu for the new leadership selection convention.
The inauguration of the first national convention, which was changed to the eighth general convention, will be held at Nepal Academy in Kamaladi at 1 PM today.

The CPN (Maoist Center) Standing Committee meeting had turned the conference into a general convention only on Saturday.
More than 1600 delegates will participate in the convention. Of them, 148 have been nominated by party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
