‘National development not possible sans development of Madhesh’

DHANUSHA, Oct 16: Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Raghubir Mahaseth, has said the development of the entire country would remain unachievable in the absence of development of Madhesh region.

DHANUSHA, Oct 16: Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Raghubir Mahaseth, has said the development of the entire country would remain unachievable in the absence of development of Madhesh region. 


In a greetings exchange ceremony organized on the occasion of Dashain, Deepawali and Chhath festivals at Rajaul of Janakpurdham sub-metropolis-14, he said the government had brought enough budget for the development of Madhes.

He utilized the occasion to pledge to connect every roads of Madhes to the national road network and every villages to the district headquarters. According to him, the Jayanagar-Janakpur railway service will come into regular operation from coming December and the East-West railway service will be ready for operation by the next four years. 


Similarly, the construction of a postal highway has neared the completion. 


RJP committed to the rights of Madhesh: Bhandari 


Rastriya Janata Party presidium member Sharad Singh Bhandari said the party was committed to empowering the Madhes and Madhes people. In his address to a festival reception here today, the leader from the Madhes said, "There is a need to exert pressure for the amendment of the constitution to promote the rights of Madesh." He accused the government of making excuse to amend the constitution. 


Province 2 Minister for Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment Ram Naresh Ray underlined the need of unity among all for the sovereignty, dignity and rights of the Madhes. 

RJP senior vice chair and National Assembly member Brisheshchandra Lal, Janakpur sub metropolis mayor Lal Kishore Shah, deputy mayor Reeta Jha and Hansapur municipality deputy mayor Renu Jha urged the political leadership to be serious towards the issues of Madhes.
