National Economic Census estimated to cost Rs 400 million

KATHMANDU, April 25: The National Economic Census is conducted by the Central Bureau of Statistics will cost approximately Rs 400 million. 


The census was started on April 14 and would conclude by June 14. The goal of the economic census is to collect economic statistics of trade and business organizations, of the status of the small and cottage industries and the enterprises producing goods and services.

A district economic census coordination committee has been constituted under the coordination of the Chief District Officer in every district of the country for making the census effective. 


CBS Director General Suman Raj Aryal said that data and information collection, data processing and preparation of the analytical report would be carried out in about five years. 


Director of the CBS Anil Sharma said the estimated cost of the national economic census to be carried out with the financial assistance of Japan is Rs 400 million. He, however, said there might be some changes in the cost amount. RSS
