National Security Council meeting discusses potential security threats, measures to contain them

KATHMANDU, Oct 5: A meeting of the National Security Council (NSC) held discussion on further strategies to be adopted for curbing different activities disturbing religious and communal harmony at some places in the country of late.

KATHMANDU, Oct 5: A meeting of the National Security Council (NSC) held discussion on further strategies to be adopted for curbing different activities disturbing religious and communal harmony at some places in the country of late.


During the 31st meeting of the Council presided by Prime Minister and Chairperson of the National Security Council, Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' at NSC Secretariat, Singha Durbar, discussion was held on various issues and cases related to the national security as security situation of different provinces, misuse of social networking sites and future strategies to be adopted in order to address and minimize it, according to the Council.

The meeting also reviewed the international, regional and national security environment in presence of Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister, Finance Minister, Foreign Minister, advisor of NSC, Chief Secretary, Chief of Army Staffs, Defence Secretary.


It also decided to present the fifth annual report of the Council (fiscal year 2078/79) before the President after approving it in accordance with Article 266 (3) of Part 28 of the Constitution of Nepal.
