Nayabasti, Satdobato settle for draw

KATHMANDU, Sept 9: Nayabasti Youth Club earned a draw against Satdobato Youth Club in the Martyrs Memorial B Division League football tournament on Friday.

KATHMANDU, Sept 9: Nayabasti Youth Club earned a draw against Satdobato Youth Club in the Martyrs Memorial B Division League football tournament on Friday. In the match played at ANFA Complex, Satdobato, Nayabasti Youth Club was held to a 1-1 draw by Satdobato Youth Club.


Lila Bahadur Thapa Magar scored a 17-minute opener for Nayabasti, which is struggling in the relegation zone. Satdobato pressed for an equalizer but failed to score in the first half.  

Satdobato, which has just two wins in the league, scored the equalizer in the 59th minute as second-half substitute Aashish Lama flicked a header above Nayabasti goalkeeper.

Failing to secure victory has limited Satdobato in the 9th position of the league while Nayabasti is still in the relegation zone as the draw wasn’t sufficient to lift it up from the 12th position. 


With the completion of the fifth round of the league, New Road Team is on top of the points table with 11 points with three wins and two draws. Chyasal, which has 10 points, is in the second position. RCT is third with nine points, Shree Kumari is fourth with eight points while six clubs have accumulated seven points. Samajik and Mahabir are in the relegation zone with three points and one point respectively.
