NBA President Shrestha urges lawyers and service seekers to speak out against CJ Rana’s misconducts

KATHMANDU, Nov 22: Nepal Bar Association (NBA) President Chandeshwor Shrestha has urged lawyers and service-seekers to inform him about any cases when Chief Justice Cholendra SJB Rana had passed a verdict with malafide intention.

KATHMANDU, Nov 22: Nepal Bar Association (NBA) President Chandeshwor Shrestha has urged lawyers and service-seekers to inform him about any cases when Chief Justice Cholendra SJB Rana had passed a verdict with malafide intention. 


Addressing a program organized by Nepal Bar Association outside the Supreme Court on Monday, Shrestha urged lawyers and service seekers to speak out if they know about the chief justice’s misconduct. While accusing Chief Justice Rana of corruption and irregularities, he said that the NBA is studying the hearings conducted by the benches of Chief Justice Rana.

Shrestha claimed that he will publicize the hearings made by the chief justice by taking money from his clients. Stating that the judiciary is losing its credibility, he said that the political parties have remained conspicuously silent on the issues of the judiciary even though the protests have been carried out for more than two weeks. He warned of intensifying protests against political parties if they continue to neglect the issues of the judiciary. 


Alleging that Chief Justice Rana of providing injustice to service-seekers, Shrestha said that such acts will be discontinued. He also said that the chief justice has been conducting the hearing of only rich people while neglecting cases that have been pending for over 16 years.
