KATHMANDU, Dec 12: Voting in the election for the central office-bearers and members of Nepali Congress (NC) has not started yet at the ongoing 14th general convention of the party.
The general convention representatives have queued up at the voting stations at the National Assembly and Bhrikutimandap since the morning for this purpose.
Although the voting was scheduled to begin at 8AM today, it has not begun yet due to technical reasons, the party's Central Election Committee said. It is said the voting has been halted due to a delay in the printing of the ballot papers.

The party’s Central Election Committee said 487 candidates are vying for 134 posts. As per the Nepali Congress statute, election is held for 134 posts of the 167-member central working committee while the party president nominates the remaining 33 members, including the treasurer.
Arrangements have been made for 'full body' sanitization for the voters in view of the possible risk of COVID-19. Security has been beefed up on the voting station premises.
Foolproof security arrangements have been made as the dignitaries including Prime Minister and party president, the Home Minister and Ministers will also be participating in the voting.
The candidates for the party president, vice president, general secretary, joint general secretary and central member posts are seen campaigning accompanied by cultural tableaus and musical bands asking for votes at the Bhrikutimandap precincts.
