NC calls parliamentary party meeting on Tuesday

KATHMANDU, Feb 14: Ruling Nepali Congress (NC) has called a meeting of its parliamentary party to discuss the evolving political situation in the aftermath of the ruling alliance registering an impeachment motion against the Chief Justice.

KATHMANDU, Feb 14: Ruling Nepali Congress (NC) has called a meeting of its parliamentary party to discuss the evolving political situation in the aftermath of the ruling alliance registering an impeachment motion against the Chief Justice.


The parliamentary party meeting is to be held at Lhotse Hall of the Parliament Building in New Baneshwor at 9:00 am on Tuesday.

The meeting is likely to discuss the impeachment motion against the Chief Justice and the MCC grant assistance.


On Sunday morning, 98 lawmakers from the three major parties in the ruling coalition, led by Nepali Congress, filed an impeachment motion against Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher JB Rana. 


It may be noted that the main opposition party CPN-UML is meeting today to discuss the same issue. 


The next parliament meeting has been called for February 18.
