NC candidates win posts of Chair and Deputy Chair of Hima Rural Municipality in Jumla

KATHMANDU, May 16: Nepali Congress (NC) candidate Laxman Shahi has been elected to the post ofChairperson of Hima Rural Municipality of Jumla district. Shahi won 1,872 votes to beat his nearest rival Ammaraj Shahi of the CPN (Maoist Center) who received 1,423 votes.

KATHMANDU, May 16: Nepali Congress (NC) candidate Laxman Shahi has been elected to the post ofChairperson of Hima Rural Municipality of Jumla district. Shahi won 1,872 votes to beat his nearest rival Ammaraj Shahi of the CPN (Maoist Center) who received 1,423 votes.


Likewise, NC's Surpana Shahi has also won the post of vice-chair. She got 1, 518 votes while her closest rival was Kalpana Damai of the CPN (Maoist Center) with 1,489 votes, according to the Election Office.

Likewise, NC's candidate Damodar Prasad Acharya has won the post of Chairperson of Kankasundari Rural Municipality with 2,806 votes. His nearest rival, Dhan Bahadur Rawat of the CPN (Maoist Center), won 2,562 votes.


Similarly, Prem Kali Budha of the Nepali Congress received 2,380 votes to be elected Vice-chair defeating her nearest rival Rita Khatri of the CPN (Maoist Center) who got 1,945 votes. Congress candidates have also taken the lead in Tila, Tatopani and Patarasi Rural Municipalities. (RSS)
