KATHMANDU, Oct 13: The Nepali Congress (NC) has expelled the party leaders who fielded as rebel candidates against the official decision of party and ruling alliance for five years. The rebel candidates who failed to withdraw their candidacies within stipulated deadline are expelled from the party along with their proposers and supporters.

The NC took action as per party's statute reasoning that they filed candidacies against the official candidates on behalf of the party, ruling alliance and Loktantrik Samajwadi Party in Madhesh Province.
