NC expresses grief on Golchha's demise

KATHMANDU, April 10: Nepali Congress has expressed grief on the passing away of industrialist Diwakar Golchha who passed away last night in Chennai, India.

KATHMANDU, April 10: Nepali Congress has expressed grief on the passing away of industrialist Diwakar Golchha who passed away last night in Chennai, India.


In a press statement, the NC stated that Golchha's demise is a huge loss to the country's industrial sector adding that the country has lost honest and competent industrialist.

The party, in the statement, has paid tribute to the departed soul while expressing condolence to the bereaved family members and relatives.


67-year-old Golchha, who was the vice chairperson of Golchha Organization, breathed his last while undergoing a kidney transplant in Chennai.


The Golchha organization owns Hulas CGI sheets, Wires, Shree Ram Sugarmill among others.  He is former vice president of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industries and elder brother of its current first vice-president Shekhar Golchha.


He was elected to the First Constituent Assembly (CA) in 2008 by Nepali Congress (NC) through proportional representation system.  His body will be brought to Kathmandu Wednesday day itself and he will be cremated on Thursday, according to family sources. He is survived by two sons.
