KATHMANDU, April 4: Nepali Congress (NC) has fielded Dambar Khadka for the by-election in Ilam-2.
According to sources, Dambar Khadka was decided as a candidate for Ilam-2 at the parliamentary board meeting held at the residence of Party President Sher Bahadur Deuba in Budhanilkantha on Thursday.

Khadka was defeated by UML candidate Subash Chandra Nembang in the House of Representatives election on 20th November 2022.
According to sources, President Deuba has decided to make Abhishek Singh a candidate in Bajhang-1.
Singh is the son of the late minister of Sudurpaschim Province, Prithvi Bahadur Singh.
Earlier in the meeting of the parliamentary board held on Wednesday, President Deuba proposed the names of Khadka in Ilam 2 and Singh in Bajhang 1. "What was proposed by the president yesterday was agreed upon today," said a leader who participated in the meeting.
