KATHMANDU, June 23: Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma has questioned the home minister’s statement that the location of GB Rai, who is being searched by the police in a cooperative fraud case, has been ascertained. Sharma has questioned if this was an attempt [by Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane] to help his business partner hide.

Speaking during the Special Hour in the meeting of the House of Representatives on Sunday, NC General Secretary Sharma raised questions about the statement made by the Home Minister in Chitwan. Recently, Lamichhane reached Chitwan and claimed that GB Rai had been located in Malaysia.

Saying that one of the two former owners of Gorkha Media was absconding and the other was the home minister, NC General Secretary Sharma remarked, "The Home Minister, who is under investigation for cooperative fraud, is to arrest his own business partner who is absconding in the same cooperative fraud case. So, what is the intention behind making the announcement that he had been located? Is it a new style of arresting the accused or is it indicative of the intention to help him run away?”
