Rai emphasized that the NC has been fully adhering to the decision made by the coalition party and has also chosen to support Indra Bahadur Angno, the leader of the parliamentary party of the CPN-Maoist Center, as the Chief Minister.

After the decision of ruling coalition partners to appoint Indra Bahadur Angbo from the CPN (Maoist Center) as the Chief Minister of Koshi Province, NC provincial assembly member Kedar Karki, with the support of CPN-UML and seven NC provincial assembly members, had staked a claim for the position of Koshi Province Chief Minister, countering the coalition's decision.
