NC lawmaker Yadav files nomination for Deputy Speaker

KATHMANDU, Jan 20: Nepali Congress lawmaker Mukta Kumari Yadav has registered her nomination for the post of deputy speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR).

KATHMANDU, Jan 20: Nepali Congress lawmaker Mukta Kumari Yadav has registered her nomination for the post of deputy speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR).


Her nomination, registered on behalf of the opposition parties, was proposed by Badri Pandey of NC and backed by Sarbendra Nath Shukla of Loktantrik Samajbadi Party and Metmani Chaudhary of CPN (Unified Socialist).

The election of the deputy speaker will be taking place at 1:00 am on January 21 at the Federal Parliament Secretariat in accordance with the Rule 8 of the House of Representatives (HoR) Regulations, 2075 BS.   


The Federal Parliament Secretariat had scheduled the time from 1:00 am to 4:00 pm on Friday to file nominations for the election.


Earlier, Rastriya Swantantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Indira Rana Magar also registered her nomination for the election on behalf of the ruling alliance.
