NC leader Gururaj Ghimire has written on social media, saying, "NC president and parliamentary party leader Sher Bahadur Deuba should resign from both positions immediately on the basis of ethics. Why did he forge an alliance with the Maoists in the first place when the leaders of the party were saying that an alliance with the Maoists would be wrong? How responsible are the gangs who sing his praises? The leaders have also complained that if he does not resign, a special general convention should be called soon.”

Another leader of NC, Chandra Bhandari, has also posted a status on his Facebook. It reads, "It is not only fraud, dishonesty and deception, where you are and where your advisers are, you should take responsibility for the incident and prove it".
