TAPLEJUNG, Dec 4: Five candidates from Taplejung will be competing for different posts of office-bearers and members through the convention of the Nepali Congress' (NC) ongoing Province 1 Working Committee Convention. Former general secretary of Tarun Dal, Padam Sundar Palungwa is competing for the post of general secretary from Uddhav Thapa's team.
Thapa is competing from the Sitaula group. Similarly, there are four candidates from Taplejung for the post of Provincial Working Committee member.
'Full security arrangement for polls' in Province 1
The representatives of NC Taplejung, which is divided into two groups in the district convention, are also divided for two posts in the provincial working committee.
From Sitaula’s group, provincial lawmaker Pratap Prakash Haangaam and Gita Sendang while from Guna Raj Ghimire group, former district president Keshav Prasad Dahal and Meena Gurung are competing.
