NC rebel candidate Giri wins ward chairmanship in Sunil Smriti Rural Municipality of Rolpa

ROLPA, May 15: Independent candidates have won in one ward of Rolpa. Nepali Congress (NC) rebel candidate Netra Bahadur Giri has won the ward chairmanship as an independent candidate for the second time in Sunil Smriti Rural Municipality-2 of the district.

ROLPA, May 15: Independent candidates have won in one ward of Rolpa. Nepali Congress (NC) rebel candidate Netra Bahadur Giri has won the ward chairmanship as an independent candidate for the second time in Sunil Smriti Rural Municipality-2 of the district.

Giri, who was denied a ticket from the NC, contested as an independent candidate with his election symbol ‘stick’ and won with 507 votes. He also won the previous local level election as an independent candidate. Although the NC took action against for flouting the party's decision, he was later brought back to the party. This time, after failing to get a ticket again, he contested as an independent candidate.
