KATHMANDU, Nov 11: Nepali Congress has affirmed its clear stance on 'One China Policy'.
Issuing a press release on Friday, the NC noted its firm adherence to the Principle of Panchasheel and termed the ill-effort to create rumor on the relations with the Chinese government as 'unfortunate'.
"No one should teach NC and its President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba about the party's stance on One China Policy", stated a press release issued by Chief Secretary at NC Central Office, Krishna Prasad Poudel here on Friday.
Attention on provocative rumor
NC has condemned the misleading and provocative media publicity in regard to President Deuba's recent India visit. President Deuba had reached Goa of India as a Chief Guest at a program organized by India Foundation.
"President Deuba had emerged out of the venue immediately after the inaugural session of the program. NC's serious attention has been drawn to the act of some Nepali media the way they are disseminating news stating President Deuba had met with a representative of Dalai Lama in Goa.
Some media are disseminating news on the issue in deliberate and provocative manner putting the truth aside", the press release noted.
It is truth that Deuba had addressed the program as the chief guest and present at the program as the speakers were Chairperson of Bharatiya Janata Party Ameet Shah, Indian Rail Minister Suresh Prabhu and spiritual thinker Swami Tejonanda, reads the press release.
Program photograph fake
The NC has expressed sorrow over the ill-intention to defame President Deuba by presenting news with fake photos. "It is unfortunate to present the President sitting together and interacting with Dalai Lama's representative and disseminate news stating President Deuba was not sensitive to the One China Policy", the press release further stated.
NC President Deuba was not aware as who were the audience of the program of which he was the chief guest and it was not the issue to raise, reads the press release. RSS
