NC, UML candidates elected Ward Chairs in Pokhariya Municipality

BIRGUNJ, May 15: CPN-UML candidate has won Ward Chairmanship of Pokhariya Municipality Ward Number 1 of Parsa while Nepali Congress candidate secured victory  in Ward no. 10.

BIRGUNJ, May 15: CPN-UML candidate has won Ward Chairmanship of Pokhariya Municipality Ward Number 1 of Parsa while Nepali Congress candidate secured victory  in Ward no. 10.


The counting began by opening the ballot boxes of these two wards on Saturday. According to the results of the two wards, Pramod Giri and Sonalal Shah have been elected as the chairperson of Pokhariya-1 and 10 wards, respectively. Shah was also elected ward chairperson in the last election.

In Pokhariya 1, Giri won with 447 votes while his rival Raju Giri of the Nepali Congress got 267 votes. Shah, elected from the ward number 10, got 447 votes. His nearest rival Buninarayan Raut Kurmi got 387 votes.


CPN-UML has maintained a lead in Pokhariya Municipality. According to the results of two wards, UML mayoral candidate Pradumna Chauhan has taken the lead with 1,046 votes. Shankar Raut Ahir of the Nepal Sushasan Party is following him with 589 votes while Dipnarayan Rauniyar of the Nepali Congress has got 270 votes.
