KATHMANDU, Feb 14: The main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) has urged the government to hold talks with the Chinese side immediately to ensure smooth bilateral trade via the Rasuwagadhi-Kerung border point between the two countries.
Goods for Teej remain stuck in Kerung due to lack of containers
Issuing a press statement on Sunday, NC spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma drew the attention of the government over ‘hassles’ that the Nepali entrepreneurs are currently facing while importing and exporting goods via the Rasuwagadhi-Kerung border point.
"It is disheartening to note that more than 1,500 containers are currently stranded at the Nepal-China border point as only five containers are being allowed to enter Nepal a day. On the one hand, Nepali traders are in trouble, while on the other it has impacted the revenue collection," read the press statement.
