DARCHULA, July 2: Nepali Congress has been elected as the chief of Byas Rural Municipality. Dilip Singh Budhathoki has been elected as the chief of the rural municipality with 1, 915 votes. His closest rival of CPN-UML Dilip Singh Dadal got 1,607 votes.

Similarly, to the post of deputy chief, NC candidate Hema Bhatta has been elected with 1, 819 votes while her closest rival of UPN-UML Tara Kunwar got 1,650 votes.
With six wards in the rural municipality, UML has won in 1, 3 and 4 while NC has clinched victory in 2, 5 and 6 wards.
