KATHMANDU, Jan 16: Subash Chandra Nembang, a key leader of the NCP (Oli faction) said that the party led by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and General Secretary Bishnu Poudel is the official ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP).
Nembang, while addressing a program organized by the faction’s Province 1 committee in the capital on Saturday, said that their faction is the real, legitimate party as their decisions were taken in the presence of the party’s first-ranked Chairman KP Oli and General Secretary Bishnu Poudel. “We sent all the decisions taken by the party after certification by the first chairman and duly signed by the general secretary. Therefore, the NCP which has KP Oli and Bishnu Poudel is the official one.”
'I hope MPs will use their conscience'
According to him, the rival faction led by Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Madhav Kumar Nepal cannot take any disciplinary action against KP Oli. “I am wondering how can a meeting without the general secretary take action against KP Oli?”
On the occasion, he also argued that the current government is not a caretaker one but a full-fledged government which can discharge all the necessary decisions and duties. According to him, the KP Oli-led government can act in a full-fledged manner until the Election Commission imposes the election code of conduct.
Nembang, who is also the chairman of the Constituent Assembly, however did not clearly mention whether the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR) by Prime Minister Oli on December 20 was an unconstitutional step, arguing that the case is sub judice at the Supreme Court.
