The situation turned tense after Ghising came down heavily on the local residents for their ‘unreasonable demands’. He urged them not to halt the development works adding that the ultimate beneficiaries of the project are the local residents.

Ghising and his office colleagues initially tried to persuade the agitating local residents not to obstruct the ongoing construction. However, the enraged local residents confronted with Ghising and the NEA authorities for about an hour.

It is not uncommon in Nepal that local residents take to the street to obstruct the construction of development projects with various demands including immediate compensation for the damage caused by the projects in their localities.
