KATHMANDU, Aug. 30: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has disconnected power supply to a total of 3,411 consumers across the country, reasoning the owners failed to pay tariff for long.

After the NEA emerged tough against the non-payers, Rs 62 million in arrears has been raised so far. The non-payer's power supply was cut since August 19.

Even the government offices have been punished by the NEA. The government offices are yet to clear Rs 26 billion in arrears.

Energy Minister Janardan Sharma has directed the NEA to continue action against those not paying the tariff for long. RSS
