NEA invites bids to sell 200 MW electricity to India during monsoon

KATHMANDU, May 6: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has invited tenders to sell the surplus electricity during monsoon at competitive rates to India.

KATHMANDU, May 6: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has invited tenders to sell the surplus electricity during monsoon at competitive rates to India.


Issuing a public notice on Friday, the authority called for tenders and sought proposals from Indian companies for the sale of 200 MW of electricity generated from hydropower projects in Nepal.

The bidders can submit the cost of bid documents in the shape of demand draft along with the application by 12:00 PM on May 27, 2022.


Open Access Consumers, Regulated Utilities, DISCOMs and Traders having valid trading licenses issued by the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC), Government of India, are eligible to participate in this bid, according to NEA. The bid will be opened on the same day at 1 PM in presence of the applicants or their authorized representatives who choose to be present.
