NEA schedules five-day power cut across Kathmandu Valley for underground cable installation

KATHMANDU, April 27: Various places of the Kathmandu Valley will experience a daily four hour power cut for five days, starting from Sunday due to the ongoing underground electric distribution line work by the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) at the Kuleshwar distribution center.

KATHMANDU, April 27: Various places of the Kathmandu Valley will experience a daily four hour power cut for five days, starting from Sunday due to the ongoing underground electric distribution line work by the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) at the Kuleshwar distribution center.


The NEA’s Kathmandu Valley West Distribution System Enhancement Project announced the schedule in a notice published on Saturday, indicating that power supply will be shut down from 11 AM to 3 PM across various feeder lines.

On Sunday, the power supply will be interrupted in the area from Soalteemod to Ravibhavan under Kalimati feeder. The outage will then affect the powerline from Naikap to Balambu under Balambu and Thankot feeder on Monday and Thursday, followed by Ravibhavan to Kalanki Chowk under the Kalimati feeder on Tuesday. Similarly, the High Vision Colony area will experience a power outage under the Thankot and Matatirtha feeder on Friday.


The notification also stated that incase of unfavorable weather conditions, the scheduled power supply interruption may be postponed.
