NEA to discontinue power supply to some areas of Kathmandu valley

KATHMANDU, July 28: Residents of Kathmandu who have been enjoying uninterrupted power supply since some months will face power outages again as Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) is set to discontinue power supply to some areas of Kathmandu valley and other parts of the country, citing regular repair and the expansion and construction of transmission line.

KATHMANDU, July 28: Residents of Kathmandu who have been enjoying uninterrupted power supply since some months will face power outages again as Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) is set to discontinue power supply to some areas of Kathmandu valley and other parts of the country, citing regular repair and the expansion and construction of transmission line. 


Those areas that will face power cuts in the valley include Balaju, Swayambhu and Kalanki, said Dipak Dhital, deputy manager for NEA's Load Dispatch Centre.

He said the reason behind the discontinuation of power supply is it requires conducting regular repair of the electricity substation at Syuchatar. The repair will be completed until tomorrow (Saturday), he added. 


Birgunj industrial corridor will also face load-shedding, said the NEA, adding that power supply will also be discontinued to other areas like Chandranigahapur, Hetauda, Simara, Dhalkebar and Parawanipur for the next five days. It requires improving transmission system and construction of transmission lines in the area, the NEA said. RSS
